Overview

All HID Input Devices, e.g. keyboards or remotes and there particularly the media control functions, should work out of the box without the need for additional customization.

MediaPortal 2 allows the complete customization of your device and offers the possibility to assign any key or combination of it to either MediaPortal 2 commands or specific MediaPortal menu screens. For example, you can assign a specific key combination, e.g. ALT+H to a specific function of MediaPortal 2 like the "Info" button, or a specific screen like the home screen.

Note

With activated 'User Management' every user can define his own custom key bindings that will then be available on each client that the user is logged on to. Make sure you are logged in as the right user if you want to change your personal setup. Without 'User Management' key assignments are only valid for the specific client PC and will not automatically transfer to other machines. In that case you need to repeat the same procedure on each client.
